HL7 Interface

The HL7 Manager allows the laboratory to build a communication bridge between the M/LAB Enterprise Edition LIMS and any number of internal or external EMR and HIS systems.

M/LAB Enterprise Edition has adopted the HL7 as the principal communication method when communicating with another system. Internal system codes can be translated to several standard coding systems.

The HL7 Interface module imports specimen orders and patient demographic information from a foreign system by listening on a dedicated network port and receiving HL7 formatted records. Raw data records are reformatted and made available to the accession process. The export of test results is also in HL7 format and can be directed to network or non-network submitters to be process into their respective databases.
